Ayumi Hamasaki (AKA "Ayu") writes all of her own lyrics (not mentioning her talents as a composer, pianist and singer),
and has done so since her very first single in 1998. But anyone can write lyrics. It takes a special talent to write good lyrics
- ones with meaning beyond one mundane subject, with depth and true soul. I feel that Ayu has proven her greatness primarily
in her lyric-writing, and that it is a very important part of her music.

Over the years, as my Japanese has improved, I've come to notice little things in her lyrics that I never understood
before, little mistakes that translators have made, and the true depth of beauty of Ayu's poetry. This is my little (not to
mention basic and unprofessional) website dedicated to bringing the true meaning of Ayu's songs to her English-speaking audience.
